Incline workday

It is truly amazing what a small band of people can accomplish in roughly five hours time. Nearly 60 volunteers and crew leaders contributed to some significant improvements to the area around the Manitou Incline on Saturday, May 12. Many, many thanks to those who got up early to pitch in and to those who just happened by and decided to volunteer on the spot. Many thanks also to REI, the Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department, the City of Manitou Springs, C & C Sand and Stone, Trails and Open Space Coalition, Friends of the Peak and D'Vine Wine. There are a lot of pictures below to help tell the story but in a nutshell: fencing and signs were installed, social trails were closed and reclamation of those areas was begun. There is still a lot of work to be done so there will be more volunteer opportunities in the future and of course you can learn about them right here when they arise.
