Parking at the Cog on Mother's Day Benefits Incline Friends

First Wedding on the Incline ???
A little more than a week past Valentine's Day, love sprang eternal on the Incline. Friends said this couple had met on the Incline so just up from the base and to the side of the ties they tied the knot on Saturday, February 23. Yes, of course, the couple and some of the wedding party intended to hike the Incline post-ceremony. If she'd had a bouquet that would've been quite the toss from the top ay?…

Thanks to all of Our "Outlaw" Donors
Incline Diva Jill Suarez (or as she dubbed herself, "The Incline Bunny)" was one of more than a dozen people who ponied up cash to have their picture taken, one more time, with the "No Trespassing" sign that was removed from the Incline for eventual display at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. A lot of hikers took advantage of a beautiful, Spring-like day to climb the Incline which became legally open to the public on February 1, 2013. One couple (see above)…

Expectations of a Trail Work Day
At our recent crew leader training some of us discussed the “patience factor,” i.e. crew leaders don’t want to be waiting around for volunteers to organize, pay attention, etc. and volunteers, since they are giving freely of their time, don’t want that time wasted either. As a volunteer, when you arrive for a trail project you can expect a certain amount of time will be spent organizing you into different crews, familiarizing you with tools and most importantly, reviewing safety…

Crew Leader Training
Board President Steve Bremner and Board Member BIll Beagle took part in approximately 16 hours of Crew Leader Training during the April 20-22 weekend. It was a great weekend to be outside in two beautiful spots, Glen Eyrie and Garden of the Gods and we even managed to get some good work done, on a new trail, an existing trail and reclamation work on a social trail.
